My earlier life with family  and career left little time for more creative pursuits. However I have always been fascinated by the visual arts, especially by effects of light and colour as illustrated particularly for me in the works of Caravaggio, Vermeer, the Impressionists and the Group of Seven.

             Professional retirement has provided the opportunity to pursue my more creative interests. I am particularly attracted to the watercolour medium with its immediate transparency, ability to produce light effects & it’s purity of colour. Most of my painting to date has been in watercolour but the oil medium also attracts me with its rich and lush colour and I plan to explore it further.

             My training has been
through classes with local art teachers, at community college
and also at workshops made
available through the local art associations to which I belong
in London, Ontario.
