Audrey Cooper Born in 1927, Audrey never got around to painting until 2005. No time. Life got in theway - childhood, big bands and dancing, marriage, four children, divorce, writing. Running her own business, and suddenly retirement at 75! Where had it all gone? No one seemed interested in listening to an old codger talk about “olden days”, so she decided to paint the past. Nearly five years and 90 paintings later, these are some of the results. Her works are humorous, childlike, and (although she dislikes the term) whimsical. Her paintings have been shown and sold in London, Ontario, where she now lives, at: The Arts Project, Imagine, The Art Exchange, Art On The Green (in Wortley Village) and other favorites keep her company at home. Some locations have been researched on the Net, but most are remembered and relived in her mind through the eyes of a 9-year old child and young woman growing up and raising the Boomer Generation . Audrey is now a member of The Brush and Palette Club in London, meeting other artists, and enjoying Workshops with members. She is also studying with artist Peter Lam, who helps her with painting skills, so she can continue painting her memories. Won’t you join her and look through her “olden times”.
